AR2907 14 -12-2021 Ha, Cak & WL

Post by Martin_S »

Today in Brisbane , we had a cloudless sky , but lots of gusty wind. I was able to catch the new AR in Ha, Cak & WL plus a 19 minute animation that I processed quite dark to emphasise the solar activity in the South East region. I used my Lunt DS60/50 for the H-alpha with my ASI 290mm camera , for the Cak I used my 102 f/10 achromat stopped down to f/20and B1200 Cak wedge with my ASI174mm camera and for the WL I used the achromat with ND 3.8 Astrosolar film and my ASI 174mm camera IR cut and #58 green filter.
The results were not the best but at least I got a decent look at the new AR.

Martin,
I really like the more natural reddish coloration for the Ha images. This has appeal for a primarily visual observer as myself. I really like the CaK full disc as well.

Thanks

James
