17th December lunchtime view
It was sunny this morning and this time I was working from home, however by lunchtime it was a bit dodgy. I managed a full CaK image but only managed the bottom half of the H alpha before it clouded up

Re: 17th December lunchtime view
The CaK images are exquisite and show so much of the detail (as well as my fav too)..
The Ha certainly show the surrounding activity very well indeed and the chances of flares are excellent.
AR2011 has already joined in flaring today...
Thanks for sharing

Re: 17th December lunchtime view
Great images, Alexandra. I had the same issues with variable conditions. It took four attempts at a Ha FD mosaic with at least one pane getting clouded out part way through each time.

A great set, Alexandra ! Love your CaK, it is so sharp. I wish the conditions were better here, but it was a treat anyway to image this amazing activity of the sun.

Re: 17th December lunchtime view
Nice work Alexandra!
Was this all from the PST ? I thought the PST was H-alpha only.
Or do you insert a Ca-K filter into the PST ?
How do you get the purple colour from mono images ?
Thanks
Magnus

Re: 17th December lunchtime view
Thanks guys
Magnus, many moons ago Coronado made a CaK PST too
They sit as a pair on my Merlin mount for winter viewing from the upstairs bedroom window
CaK PST + DS Ha PST by Alexandra Hart, on Flickr
The purple is variable, sometimes I go for pink, it depends on my mood In Photoshop you go to 'Image - adjustments - Colour balance' I usually use the blue and red in the midtones to get the purple to my mood (make sure the image is set to RGB first).
I hope this helps
