A little flare action at AR2907

Post by rigel123 »

I started this animation run at 15:26 UT and at about 16:00 UT you can see the start of a flare north of the spot and then it really explodes quickly south of the spot followed by an eruptive filament that does not last long. You can also see the effects of the BF cooling down as contrast nearly disappears near the end of the 45 minute animation. That was even with the Lunt BF heater running. It was about 30 F at the time.

WoW, I just missed it. It happened Less than an hour before I set up. That's a much better view than I would have gotten visually and there's nothing better than a good animation like yours to bring the Sun to life!

Thanks Warren.

Thanks for the great animation, Warren. We are now at -23C and I am not capturing, although the weather is clear.
