22-12-2021 THE MASSIVE ACTIVITY BLOSSOMS TODAY

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Hello All.

Well with all the action on and around the Sun today and over the last few days, things seems to be changing fairly rapidly as two/three AR's are leaving the disk to the west. :band

But do not get disgruntled, as these are as quickly being replaced from both the north-east and south-east as well on the disk itself. :o

Numbering these has proved a bit of a challenge to get each correct, but hopefully I have achieved a good result :?:

https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/solar-activity.html shows more of the techie stuff for the various AR's.. :bow

Prominences at datum are also showing much of interest, but of course, as has been happening here in much of Southern-England, the weather has not allowed much imaging - or even just viewing either. :P

And to sum-up with a :band role, the Heliographic image from the only Stereo satellite, shows there is even more activity over the Eastern Limb, with three AR's likely to appear over the next very few days (24/12 onwards).

WOW :!: quite astonishing how quickly this mass action has blossomed... :D

CLEAR SKIES
Terry

Incredible, the sun is behind thick moist clouds in London, such a shame. Also very low in the sky and cold...

Yes Magnus - almost unbelievable, but records show that these sights have been seen in the past Solar Cycles...

I would love to see this in WL from well east of the London area, but the clouds simply won't allow...

As my report suggests, more AR's (probably with spots) will be turning-over the Eastern Limb soon...

I did observe today but wifey had something for me to do so I didn't have time to post the results before work. I will now post it shortly.
