Sun December 26, 2021 - Numerous active regions

Post by ffellah »

Hello all: this morning after Christmas a beautiful sunny day with below average seeing, typical winter. The sun is very active and it shows eleven (!) active regions, with and without sunspots. I used the ZWO 178 camera for a closer view, and the PG ICX814 for a full disk, both with a 1.6x Barlow. The scope was the Evostar 72mm.

Hope you also had a chance to image this active sun during the weekend.

Franco

Excellent captures Franco and does indeed show so many AR's too.

Was just four of those with spots, but now AR2920 is added (but not certain where)...

Thanks for sharing
Terry

Franco,
All of these are very nice CaH images. The plage/faculae areas show up exceedingly well at the wavelength.

I did get a chance to image today for the first time in months, I posted them a short while ago.

Lovely images, Franco.
Frustratingly grey, dull and overcast here.

Very nice franco! What is your camera preference? There seems to be more contrast with the 814.

Thank you, Mark. I agree, the 814 gives better results for this. I am posting a question for you (or anybody else) for help in fitting the Airylab telecentric to the AR152 refractor. Maybe you can take a look and let me know what you think.
