AR12916 C4.67 Flare! 04:28UT December 29 2021

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Just before I left from work to go home I got a ping on SpaceWeather Live concerning a flare. When I got home I found that it was a small C4.67 flare that popped off in AR12916. I never found a good image by the SDO that showed it well but GONG Learmonth picked it up in Ha.

I use the GONG network of scopes and NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory as if they were my own. Their almost realtime data is a real aid to me learning about the sun through observation. The assist me with my own scopes and are a bonus alongside them. With them the Sun always shines!!

And then there is all of you on SolarChat!!
