Re: Sol 3-1-22 Ha & Cak
I am obivously doing something wrong with the PM as I have tried a couple of times.
Both were taken on the 3 Jan with a WO 132 stopped down to about 120mm (because of a small clamshell in the lens) at native 925 mm F/L with a ZWO 178mm cam and Lunt 600 filter.
They were both captured with Firecapture, stacked with AS2 a bit of intial sharpening in Imppg then into PS for clouring and a final stretch and sharpen
both were 101 of 1000 frames
the top one above was taken at 14-03 UT 17.3 ms exposure @ 51 FPS gain 206 gamma 50 ROI 1328x1178
The second one above was at 14-02 UT exposure 17.3 ms @53 FPS gain 206 gamma 50 ROI 1384x1148
If you need any more info or even the files I should be able to drop box them to you.

Re: Sol 3-1-22 Ha & Cak
Steve,
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my request.
I already know that the relative resolutions between the Lunt CaK and the MiniSHG can impact on the recording of CaK proms.
It looks like your total exposure was around 17.3ms x 100 = 1.73sec plus the sharpening etc. with a 120mm aperture to achieve your results. That could be a good benchmark.
The MiniSHG used effectively a 4.5ms frame -no stacking, no sharpening, with a 60mm aperture to give the results posted.
