Well as James correctly said, that a "Calming" Sun was in the offing.
But not entirely, as this morning/4th January, two new AR's are showing spotty activity in both the N.E. & S.E. - near their limbs...
Not too-exciting as yet, but who knows, at least might produce something over the next few days...
Some interesting prominence activity is also included here from the SDO satellite..

I saw those yesterday, well the SE one, I need to look more closely if I saw the NE one as that is a bit small and the seeing was bad. Let's hope they grow

Yes Alexandra, the N.E. one seems to have disappeared and the newbie in the SDO image is now AR2924 IN THE S.E. as of 5-1-2022.
There may well be another AR following 2924..
