Sun January 8, 2022 - AR12924 and AR12925 - CaH

Post by ffellah »

Hello all: a quick session this afternoon with sunny weather and below average seeing, but not bad overall. Temperature was 32F, I had to set up on the driveway, not ideal, as the front of the yard is covered with snow. First CaH image is center wave, second is 0.5a towards red, third is 0.5a towards blue. My favorite is probably the 0.5a towards the red, but it also had the best seeing of the three. On the edge 9 o’clock you can see a new unnamed AR and another one north of it approaching. At sunset we got some visitors looking for food...

Franco,
Very good results.
The 5A bandwidth still shows some very nice data.
I'm impressed.

That's an advantage with the quark, whether it's a CaH or CaK filter. Unlike the Lunt CaK module it can be tuned " in the wings " above or below the center band. Nice!

The deer are beautiful in the snow. We have deer here too and see them sometimes. Your temperature during your observations was the same as mine here but I didn't have the snow.

Excellent images Franco and nice to see your visitors too! The red CaH definitely shows the most contrast. You're getting some great results from the setup.

Thank you Ken, James and Mark for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. I am enjoying this set up as it is very portable, quick and easy to set up and I am happy with the results. Good for winter imaging.

Fabulous captures with the set-up Franco.
You are certainly proving very well the CaH usage and the simple set-up - even in the cold/snow too..

The friendly visitors add a welcome view to the snow-scene too..

Thanks for sharing

Terry
