An Active Sun 10-01-2022

Post by Martin_S »

Today we had a very active sun, here are my best captures of the day in H-alpha. The weather was very gusty, but it didn't spoil the show that our Sun put on for us. The animation was taken over about 75mins.

Everything came out really well regardless the wind gusts, Martin.

Martin,
The prominence in the 2nd image upper left looks like a man facing away with his arms crossed behind his back! I can even see his left ear. I would call it the " Rising Man " prom!!

Nice!!

Thank you all for your comments, James, that prominence you mentioned was one of the fastest moving ones I have ever imaged.
It looks like we are back to clouds and rain here in Brisbane, so it will be a shed day for me.
