AR12934 January 22, 2022

Post by ffellah »

Hello all: a beautiful sunny day with average seeing here in Westport. An image of AR12934 and chromoshpere taken with the ES AR152 refractor fitted with the Airylab 2.7X telecentric and a Quark Combo. The camera was a FLIR GS3 174. Temperature was around 30 F mid day.

That's a really nice image Franco! I think the Airylab telecentric is a great piece of glass.

Franco,
All of these are great and show nice detail. My eyes however are drawn to your colored CaH image the most. That CaH quark works really well.

Thank you Arne, James and Mark T for your comments. James: the Quark CAH is a very easy filter to use and even if it is not very narrow it produces good results, in my opinion.

Thank you Ivan, Warren, James and Alexandra, for your nice feedback. Yes, Alexandra, I could see the proms in CaH yesterday and will post them to Ken when I have a bit of time. This is the first time I see CaH proms with my equipment so not fancy at all.

James: here is the image of the CaH proms. The technical card is posted within Ken's post. Done with the Evostar 72mm stopped to 35mm as Mark T suggested. Great suggestion ! Thank you, Mark.

Franco,
I just caught it on Ken's post. This is absolutely beautiful to behold. The delicateness of the proms and the beautiful lavender glow around the pitch black disc. Two thumbs up from me, that's for sure!!

That CaH Quark is awesome!!
