Still proving to be geoeffective, AR2371 is 'moving the needles' on magnetometers around the globe following a series of Earth directed CMEs from recent flares. Here are some data from my garden magnetometer here in the north-west of England from today's minor storm.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Cheers, Mark.
I noticed it reads Kp8. It should read Kp6. This one was quite minor, but I'll take what I can get

Re: Minor G1 Solar Storm
Any storm is a good storm
Not sure whether it was a coincidence or not but the night of the big Kp9 storm our TV hard drive was wiped and we lost all TV channels. We discovered this on the Tuesday evening when we had a black TV screen. We had to completely retune and reset everything. Lots of others reported this too and Sky boxes as well on this night. I wonder if the solar storm scrabbled the digital TV airways?

Re: Minor G1 Solar Storm
Interesting, Alexandra. Clearly solar storms affect shortwave radio, but I must admit, I have no idea if this is possible at terrestrial digital TV frequencies.

See if it happens again under similar circumstances.

Re: Minor G1 Solar Storm
Very interesting Stu, it surely can't have been a coincidence. The box has been working fine since we got it last November until that night. Let's hope I'm not on holiday for the next severe solar storm or I will miss my favourite programmes.
