is there any information to be gained if instead of one slit you had 2 slits next to each other ?
not necessarily for solar either

John,
No.
The resulting spectral image would corrupted by the second entrance slit.

interference pattern might hold some info?

i'm thinking more for star images - defocused then light passing thru
like double slit experiment -- but add grating
