Continuing with my meteor radio detection activity for December, here are some additional data that includes the Ursid meteor stream from Comet 8P/Tuttle, which peaked on Dec 22nd. The hourly rate for this event is not particularly high, but it shows up well and is distinguishable from the general background 'sporadics'. I understand that this year was a particularly good year for the Ursids.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Re: Radio Detected Ursids
Hi Stu,
Thanks and great. I just looked at my catches and did not show a peak. More or less normal days.

Hi all,
Just had my set up recording for the predicted max on the 21-22nd Dec, with results as below including some of the more "interesting" screen shots of the session.
Regards to all,
Les

Re: Radio Detected Ursids
Many thanks Rainer and Alexandra. Interesting captures, Les. They seem to be quite long in terms of duration. Is that a feature of the Ursids?

Re: Radio Detected Ursids
Stu,
In relation to the length of duration of the Ursid captures I posted, these were certainly the longest and most visually interesting ones. Most Ursids seemed "normal" 1-2 second pings overall, but to be honest, this was the first time I'd had the set up recording this shower as I'd always considered them (incorrectly) as insignificant. Live and learn!!!!
