Lyrids April 2021
Hi,
Yes there was some more activity then normal for the Lyrids today morning Mexican local time.
Zapata and Ehlert stations in Mexico and Nelson in the USA. Quite synchronized the three stations.
Look at the activity of the last line eg day 22 in the Colorgramme
You can see those statistics in the www.rmob.org website

Re: Lyrids April 2021
Thank you Rainer for the interesting data and my SX-Oculus All-Sky-Camera is set-up ready, so as its' looking clear, I might spend the dark-time in the observatory see what it can capture and let you have some captures to peruse.
Regards
Terry

Thanks for sharing Rainer.
I saw a slight uptick in my radio hits over the last 24 hours or so as well.

Also Rainer, I thought the 22nd and 23rd, but anyways am out in the observatory with all comforts, drink and even a sleeping air-bed etc., so might just stay the night... (Has been done before for the Perseides)...
Cheers

Re: Lyrids April 2021
Well Rainer, I have captured what I initially believe to a meteorite and a possible meteor, but as am currently recording at nearly 00:01z, it will be a while before that set of avi's can be further investigated.
I'm now recording sets of 1000-images spaced at 4 frames per second and the Moon is nearing the low-down west, so it's getting better for the camera...
Cheers for now

Re: Lyrids April 2021
The attached image is taken from a large number of AVI-files taken throughout the night of the 22nd/23rd April-2021 and which is almost certainly a meteorite (possibly to land in the NW of the UK or even closer to the London area...
I've got more of this particular event to process from those AVI captures and will hopefully show a short movie-sequence in due course and after I've stuffed my face with a Chinese meal and then probably fallen-asleep, as I only had a couple of hours kip - previously...
interesting and as said to Stu previously, one of these days I'll get my own radio-station set-up with the appropriate aerials in the garden to join-in on monitoring these events..
Regards
Terry
