My New BinChannel ERF
My New BinChannel ERF
I booked a binchannel ERF from an optical engineer friend about 4 months ago.
And I got my new ERF's picture this morning. It's really beautiful.
The ERF was designed by 80% and above transmission near 393nm and 656nm.
I'm preparing to use it with a C925HD and Quark(CaH and Ha) and hope to get some more suggestion from friends in this forum

Looks good !
Any idea of the optical quality ? Any transmission curve available ?

My friend told me that they choose 5 points for testing.christian viladrich wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 9:28 pm Looks good !

The report shows that the coating is well-distributed.The Ha channel is about 87~90% transmission and the Ca-K/H channel about 84~85%.
They made Ha-ERF for the research institutes in China but the first time to made a BinChannel ERF(maybe used by the school/club or personal more often)

Re: My New BinChannel ERF
The diameter of this ERF is 8.5 inch. It may get f/11 with my C925HD,and with a 2x barlow to use the Combo Quark.
Maybe I need to get a focal reducer with them.

What is the thickness of the filter?

Re: My New BinChannel ERF
You do mean it's spectal bandwidth. I asked the thickness of the glass itself. 6mm, 10mm or 12mm ?

Re: My New BinChannel ERF
40 nm FWHM in both Ca K and Ha is amazing. What far goes the blockage in IR ? 1000 nm ? 1200 nm ?
Any idea of the optical quality (P-V or rms wavefront) ?

2 bands,393nm and 656nm,40nm FWHM for each.christian viladrich wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 7:22 pm 40 nm FWHM in both Ca K and Ha is amazing. What far goes the blockage in IR ? 1000 nm ? 1200 nm ?

Maybe 1000 nm or 1050nm ,because I did not get any more information above 1050nm
P-V I have not any more information, but I think it's usable enough for me

I'm sorry I don't use English very often and misunderstand your question.
I need to ask another friend who will make the extension ring for it.
