The ZWO camera with the IMX174 chip runs nearly 3x faster on USB3. Didn't see a price for the DMK camera on the IS website.

I asked TIS what the frame rate would be with an ROI of 1920 x 24 pixel (for SHG applications)
They sent me an example taken at >800fps!

I think the ASI174MM might beat that IF the exposure time is short enough. Assuming the data rate is the limiting factor, using linear extrapolation form the frame rate at 640x480 (397 FPS) we get 2,646 FPS (370 microsecond exposure time). Solar kit: GP-C8 with Thousand Oaks Solar filter, APM 80mm F/6, Lunt Herschel Wedge, Solar Spectrum 0.3Å H-alpha filter, Beloptic Tri-Band ERF (80mm free aperture), Thousand Oaks 90mm ERF, Coronado SolarMax II 60mm with Double Stack Unit. Lunt straight B1800 Ca-K module.

The issue I see with the higher frame rates (for SHG) is getting enough signal, and ending up with both lack of contrast and low SNR.
It's OK when you can stack hundreds of frames to improve the SNR.

We usually have plenty of light in solar imaging. With the HaT and the PST Etalon my exposure is about 3ms at F/D 27.5. That gives room for higher throuput.
In white light it is sub ms.
The IMX174 presents very good performances with full 24db gain.

I see this as a significant opportunity to develop a high speed SHG based on a nodding mirror scanner. If a frame rate is >500 fps then a scan of 4sec would give a good resolution and a possibility of obtaining >12 complete scans per min. These (as hopefully the solar feature movements would be small in a 1 min time frame (?) would then allow stacking of the individual spectral frames prior to image extraction.)

Can't tell you for the ZWO, but the Basler achieved 2200 fps at this size (with internal 12 bits processing, not 10 bits).

I have to admit to being bias but I think the best IMX174 camera was the first one made with the chip and that is the PGR Grasshopper 3. I have never tried the Basler but I would take a PGR over a ZWO any day. As for IS, all I ever hear about IS cameras is how much noise they generate.....
