First light for Solar Spectrum 0.3A and new HaT batch
First light for Solar Spectrum 0.3A and new HaT batch
Hello all,
here is the first image done with one of the new HaT batch, and a Solar Spectrum 0.3A.
This filter has been overhauled by Mark with new blockers, and it gives an amazing view. Actually it is so nice that that I was not in a hurry to make an image
The temperature setup is very precise and fast compared with other filters. This is really a very good filter.
Anyhow here is one image, with average seeing.

Good image, Fred.
But I believe that the seeing was not the best for your location. Thanks for sharing.
BTW. What the exposure time and what the F/D where used during this image recording? What the camera?
Can you show any image taken with SS 0,3A without flat field applied?
Valery

Here is the log and a link to a raw image. I didn't had to use a camera tilt with this filter.

Amazing detail Frederic! The filter seems to be exceptional. These are rather expensive but worth the price for the dedicated amateur!

Frederic:
Super image, looks like your setup works very good, now you are just at mercy of the seeing conditions.
Regards,
Eric.

You're seeing is so much better than mine Frederic, this is the best I could get earlier this month with the sun over the rooftops with my HaT https://brierleyhillsolar.blogspot.co.u ... tober.html

Re: First light for Solar Spectrum 0.3A and new HaT batch
That is a nice animation given the conditions. Did you make a recording of the seeing conditions over time and a survey of different location in your backyard with the SSM ? Sometimes a few meters change a lot !

Re: First light for Solar Spectrum 0.3A and new HaT batch
My back yard is only about 4m x 8m, so not much room for manoeuvre, but I will see if there is a best spot.
