Astronomie solaire
I just received this book already reported by Christian in the shop section of the forum:
http://www.astronomiesolaire.com/index.php
Wonderful is all I can say, I am sure it will soon become the bible of the advanced solar imager. It reminds me of another great book, High Resolution Astrophotography by Jean Dragesco on which I learned to take my first steps in this field twenty years ago and still a fine reference work.
Every topic is very well covered with plenty of details on both the theoretical principles, including mathematical backgrounds, and the practical applications in solar equipment (telescopes, telescope modification, filters, auxiliary devices) and imaging techniques (but there is a fine chapter on solar drawing too). I find it really difficult to tell which chapter I enjoyed most, however the ones on specialized solar telescopes and equipment projects (including the construction of a coronagraph) are particularly inspiring as well as the one on image processing which reports many examples on the best use of Autostakkert and several other programs. The book is of a large format and printed on high quality paper, every image and picture is well reproduced without loss of details or colors.
My congratulations to all authors for this excellent work.

Jef:
Me too, I will wait for the English edition.
Raf, I also kept up with Dragesco and some earlier giant imagers (Chemical emulsion and digital) (King, Young, Massey, Dobbins, Douglass, Garcia, Ratledge, Volker, Jenkins and many others)
My, that makes me think that I am old.
Best regards.
Eric.

Very Good. As soon it is out in English I will order one. Perhaps shipping gets cheaper when Eric Roel and me order at the same time and one shipment is done to Mexico or perhaps USA and somebody brings them over
