CaK, 23022019. Double plus triple.

Had another try at CaK today.
100mm ED f/9_Lunt Filters_one Baader K-Line_two PST#1 filters_ASI290mm.



Tried to image at about f/14, but miscalculated (again...). Here is the image at about f/12.



Tried triplestacking, with the Lunt B600 in the imagetrain. At first I thought there was no improvement. But processed it again, curious what you think about it.

All look good, Bart. Does the third one have a little more gradation of brightnesses in the active region compared to the other two? The first definitely has the least. The second is similar to the third in that respect, but may be a little more washed out in the rest of the disk (non-AR). So that would favor the third overall. But may depend on focus, processing, image scale, etc.

The effect is subtle Bart. For me it was a much bigger improvement going from ss CaK to ds CaK. I found when I went to ts CaK the exposure time became just too long. The bright points appear 'brighter' in the TS though.

I think you are right George. But the comparison is not completely fair I realised. They both are triple stacked, but the last one also includes half a Baader K-line.

Agree what you say Mark. From SS to DS is the biggest difference. Triple with the K-line was 10ms and a gain setting of about 190 (have to check it out). So the SSM was very useful.

Your results look similar to mine, and I can definitely see more detail at the limb with the triple stack.
