Hi Everyone.
Spurred on by some of the impressive images of the big spot being posted here, I made an effort to capitalize on a narrow weather window to grab some shots myself. It was the rare convergence of a clear Saturday night, to set up and align my mount after winter hibernation, and clear Sunday morning to do some imaging. I managed to get these shots in H alpha and Ca K with seeing conditions almost cooperative. Just in time too. As I'm posting this, the snow is falling!
H alpha shot with C8 Edge and Daystar QPE 0.6, CaK shot with Stellarvue 115mmf7 and Lunt CaK (1800).
Cheers.
Peter.

Very nice images, Peter. Hopefully the snow won't hang around for very long. Curious to know, though, if a coating of snow on the ground helps or hinders the local seeing conditions.

Hi Peter,
Congrats with the season successful opening. I especially like the CaK image. It seems you have enough space to rise the scale in the CaK imaging. I found that F/40-45 is about right for CaK imaging with IMX174 sensor.

Many thanks for your kind comments, everyone. I have to apologize for being sparse with my own comments but will be better about it now that imaging season is open (for me!). Thanks for posting all of your fine images.
Valery: I appreciate your advice and have the optics ready for f/40. Next session!
Cheers.
