AR2738 from Westport today
Hi all: the morning was lousy here but the sun appeared in the afternoon and I run out imaging. White light was with the 6" refractor and Quark Sodium line, Ha with the HaT and 0.7 focal reducer. Not sure this is my best data, but I wanted to process some images fast. The full disk WL is with a Canon point and shoot camera.
I am glad everybody is having lots of fun with this large, unexpected spot during solar minimum.
Clear skies to all.
Franco

Re: AR2738 from Westport today
Thank you, Mark. In Ha I think it is really funny the large question mark to the left of the sunspot... I used the PG Flea 3 3.2 Mp for the Sodium and the ZWO ASI 174 MM for the Ha.

Thank you Phil, Brian and Stu for your nice comments. I hope to have another session with AR2738 before it goes over the limb.

What a beautiful question mark!
I like the sodium image. Is it difficult to process?

Re: AR2738 from Westport today
Thank you very much Christian, Bart. This is actually my first image of a sunspot with the Sodium Quark. I would say it requires less processing than Ha. Not difficult. Shannon, a professional photographer at our observatory, further processed my image and here it is...

Beautiful and well processed image, Franco. Have you already tried your Quark sodium with different tunings ? just to see if it makes any difference

Thank you, Raf. I have not: maybe in the future, I am just struggling these days to find time for solar imaging.
