First solar light for a T300

Post by allhoest »

Hi!,

I bought second hand a 300mm newtonian and made its first light on the sun.
There was no spot. Simply granulation.

Thanks for the comments.

I added in the system a stellar Ha system, so we are in Ha with 7nm bandwidth.
I tried in KLine, but the turbulence was soooo bad.

Yes, it is the successor of the 250mm.
I expected to find a bigger slow optic in the range of 350mm, but couldn't find.
This 300mm is at f6; the OTA is taller than me... I'm 1.8m tall.

Outstanding resolution Alex :bow

Even without any sunspot activity the granulation is well worth the effort!!!!

Great resolution, Alex. Could you describe in more detail parameters (aluminized/unalluminized mirror, truss/full tube, camera, exposure time, etc...)?

Thanks, Laura
