Sun 28th June

Post by Carbon60 »

Another 'rare' beautiful blue sky day here and a little time on my scopes to capture the lovely prom in Ha and even (a rarity for me) in CaK.

Ha Proms:

Cak Full Disks.

CaK proms:

This is a combo shot disc and proms taken separately and merged together.

Thanks for looking.

CaK discs and prom are absolutely fantastic. May you remind me of your setup for the last two images ?

Many thanks,Raf,

I used the following: Tecnosky 125mm, Lunt B600 CaK plus Baader K-line and Omega CaK with my acA1920-155um (IMX174 sensor) and an APM 2.7x Barlow:

Image processing:
AS!3
ImPPG
PixInsight

Hope this helps.

Regards

Stuart

Wow!! these are superb Stuart, the proms are incredible and very sharp :bow :bow I wonder if that big bit of plage is the big AR still doing the rounds from April? I have forgotten how many times round now.
My Lunt CaK is back, I found it on the doorstep when I got home Sunday morning, glad it wasn't nicked. They obviously ignored the advice to return it to the hubby's work. I think from looking at the delivery note it is a brand new replacement from Lunt but as it was packed in the same box and packaging as I sent it in and it has no serial number it is impossible to say. I wonder why these modules never come in a box? When I ordered it originally it came in a jiffy bag, weird for a expensive optical device ;) I just need some sunshine now, it was cloudy all day yesterday and I was sleep deprived too.

Many thanks, Alexandra. I was really pleasantly surprised that the CaK proms came out okay. I usually have real problems imaging proms at this wavelength.
Good to hear that your Lunt CaK module is back (or its replacement). Maybe we’ll get a chance to compare again on the 28th? Hopefully it has been fixed if it is the same one.

Stu.
