Look where I've placed my PST Mod Focus

Post by Starry Jack »

With these images, where should I be placing my PST Mod?

SCOPE: 152mm with PST Stage 2 with 5mm BF Stock eyepiece holder. 1:7 Glasspath right in front of the etalon.

I have placed the ruler on a consistent spot on the mount. The Sun comes to focus at 210mm. When I place the PST Mod body into the focuser (2nd image) where should I space out the blocking filter (the line midway on the stock PST eyepiece holder)? Or is it really a matter of where the camera chip lies?

Thanks,
Jack

The front collimating lens of the etalon assembly needs to be at the zero point of the ruler in the first shot.

Mark,
That makes all the sense in the world and I don’t understand why I did not grasp that fact until now. I can’t wait to make the change soon. You may have opened up a new direction for me when this works.

Respectfully,
Jack
