First animation with the Intes
Yes, the sun is boring, but now is a great time to practice for the next gigantic sunspot. (-;
Today made the first animation using the Intes 7 inch with the 160mm D-Erf. Tried to not just aim for the proms, but for a more complete view. Movie was about 15 minutes long, 30 images were used to make this animation. Flickr is not cooperating, so here is a link to Astrobin:
Thanks for watching! Bart.

Re: First animation with the Intes
Thanks everybody! Will try and reprocess the images in a couple of days. Just found the button to record the actions in Photoshop, so now it will go faster. It seems there are some Newton Rings visible. Never seen them before in the single images, but in the animation they seem to pop up.GreatAttractor wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:31 pm Great result, the high resolution is immediately noticeable.
And GreatAttractor: it is only possible thanks to beautiful software like IMPPG!

Re: First animation with the Intes
Thanks, Bart, glad you like it.
As for your setup - this is with a PST etalon, correct? So the Intes can manage the required 200 mm backfocus, or is it some other approach?

Re: First animation with the Intes
Yes, it is with a single PST etalon, lenses still in place. The Intes has more than enough backfocus so 200mm is not a problem. I try the imaging train behind the gold tube of a normal PST. And focus the image. That gives me the correct distance after the etalon. Then I move the train to the Intes and focus with the primary. When the image is focussed correctly I know the distance is fine. The intes operates at the moment as a 6 inch f/11,8 because of the 160mm D-Erf.GreatAttractor wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 5:53 am Thanks, Bart, glad you like it.
