Calcium Sun
We've had so much rain lately it's beyond a joke. However, a brief window of blue opened this afternoon between weather fronts which enabled me to try out my new Lunt B1800 Ca II K module. The conditions weren't ideal for high res work as it was a bit late in the day and, of course, it's a bit late in the season, but I thought it worthwhile to try and I was eager to run with the new setup.
The following images were captured on a Tecnosky 127mm refractor fitted with the B1800 module and a couple of additional filters to reduce the bandwidth: an Omega CaK filter and a Baader K-Line, both fitted in tandem to the nose of my Basler acA1920-155um camera.
First up, a full disk two-pane mosaic using the natural focal length of the scope, shown in mono and colour:

Here's a region captured using a x2.7 Barlow. With the blank disk, I have no idea whereabouts on the disk this was taken.
20191012_CaK by Stuart Green, on Flickr
and another region on a x5 powermate

As you can see, this was pushing it a bit for the conditions. I'm also out of practice with the weather here being so bad in recent weeks.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Re: Calcium Sun
Great Ca-K images Stu, it's never easy to image in the blue part of the spectrum

Stu:
Beautiful CaK shots.
At my place it is cloudy, hazy and rains every day.
Best regards,
Eric.

Re: Calcium Sun
Nice captures with the new filter there Stu. You got that nice region of cycle 25 faculae with the region at 7 oclock on the full disk. We were sat under the clouds streamer all yesterday, spotted you had blue skies earlier in the day.

Re: Calcium Sun
The new equipment works well. Those are beautiful FD's and the hi-res shows a lot of info. Nicely done, Stu.
I suspect we'll see more from that setup.

Re: Calcium Sun
Beautiful FD's Stu! How did you manage to make these great mosaics without a visible "stitch"?

Re: Calcium Sun
Great CaK images Stu...the detail is very sharp considering the conditions but the filter looks to be doing a good job

Re: Calcium Sun
These are fab Stuart, you are certainly getting nice spotty CaK images so the module looks good it is a breath of fresh air to see dots rather than dashes in CaK
