LS 80 and 5x Powermate

Post by Astrophil »

Here is an assortment of images taken with the Lunt LS 80 DS using a 5x Powermate. A Grasshopper GX camera was close coupled to the Powermate using a T thread adapter to keep magnification lower. These images were taken Oct. 27th and 29th. Orientation is a little off and the processing is a little extreme but the scope performed well through the hazy skies.

Phil

Lovely images, Phil. The first proms look like a couple of humming birds on the left :)

Nice resolution for a Lunt 80 and at x5 your seeing must have been pretty stable.

Thanks for the kind comments. I see the hummingbirds as well, Stu. The Lunt 80 is still new to me and I'm finding it convenient to go from full disk to closer views all in one lightweight package.
