Thanks Alexandra

The views are interesting but not the same we get with modern Herschel wedges.

The Clave' Pentaprism (90º pentaprism) has an integrated ND filter, and a barlow lens (views are nice but dark - high magnification)

Clave' Helioscope (triple-prism erector) is more interesting to use and the views are clear and crisp. A ND has to be used to decrease brightness

Both were used with a 66mm f/15 Clave' refractor fitted with a non-conventional focuser (27mm or 53mm)

Pedro:
I still have some Clave eyepieces, they are really good.
You really have a telescope and accessories museum.
Fuerte abrazo,
Eric.

An interesting post, Pedro.

It’s always interesting to see your historical equipment in action.

WoW, and I thought I had been around the astronomy hobby long enough to know all the old names. Never heard of Clave, Cave yes. It looks really nice. An f15 refractor. Probably gives really nice images.

The Clave' Helioscope (triple-prism erector) needs only one ND3.0 filter to observe the sun safely. I was finally able to reach focus with a Clave 66mm F/15 refractor (Clavé focuser). Check out a few imagens below
