Nov. 19 Disk and AR

Post by Astrophil »

A nice solar show today. Some proms and AR 2752 is still active although less energetic than yesterday. Both images were taken using the LS80 DS and PGR Grasshopper cameras. A 5x Powermate was used for the close up shot.

Very nice Phil! Your images show considerably more than I could pick up visually today. I could not see the AR at all.

Excellent results, Phil. The disk very evenly illuminated.

Thank you all for the kind comments. They definitely boost enthusiasm and motivation this time of year and when solar activity is low. James, sometimes the camera can be adjusted to see more than I can. Processing helps as well. Mark, I reset the pressure on the etalons and must have gotten lucky with the tuning. Honestly, I still have trouble finding the center wavelength visually. Alexandra, after your transit ordeal, I hope you get some clear skies soon. Franco, The full disk was processed without a flat. I had changed the ROI size and the flat frame would not load. Maybe for the best. Stu, Maurits, and Valery, Much appreciated.

Phil
