Full/Partial disk 2020-01-16

Post by JochenM »

Fairly clear skies here today, so I went out for another quick lunch break session :) As should be apparent by the (low) quality of the images, seeing was absolutely awful; but happy enough to have been able to go out and see the sun.

I'm glad you got to see the Sun even if the seeing wasn't that great :hamster: :bow

It is really odd how there is a strange matrix effect in the full disc but when you open it properly in a new tab and resize to normal it is absolutely fine. Very weird.

Hi Jochen,

The weather conditions change daily and so will our images. I see it when I assemble my mosaics of the Sun.

We need to move to the Atacama desert in Chile ...

Alexandra. A bit strange indeed; my local file doesn't seem to have that.

Rainer, tell me about it. I'll talk to my employer to see if they'll relocate me. Don't get your hopes up though :D

Jochen:
Well as you say, the important thing is to be happy when we can get some Sun, so to keep our imaging and processing experimentation on.
I live in one of the biggest populated cities, so contamination, eruptions by a near by volcano, earthquakes, (geological and man made quakes made by cars and heavy trucks running in the front street of the house), sometimes make imaging difficult.
So if would be nice if we could live in a place like the one that Rainer suggests. :D
Best regards,
Eric.

Fine images, Jochen. Seeing is not so important when there is not much to see. Looking forward to more activity.

Thanks Phil.

Exactly, Eric. Especially this time of year (heart of winter where I live). It’s all just extra experience/practice for when spring/summer is here :)
