Full Disc 15 January 2020
Hi,
High and thin clouds infront of the Sun but enough light so I thought to give it a try it and below the result. Sorry for the bad quality
If yout ake a look at the SDO magnetogram image you can see in the northern hemisphere a cycle 24 and a cycle 25 spot. The most left one is cycle 25
and below is how the Sun looked through the clouds.

Rainer:
Nice result in spite of conditions, at home I had about the same problem (thin high clouds).
Fuerte abrazo,
Eric.

Hi Rainer: very nice results in spite of the thin clouds. Are you still using the Daystar filter? If you are, which one ?

Good job managing to get that image (I think it's still good) in those type of conditions.

Excellent image, especially given those hazy skies, i'm hoping the weather allows me to get the solar scope out this weekend at some point.

Re: Full Disc 15 January 2020
Franco, somehow I don't think a full disc that superb came from a Daystar filter (sorry, am I allowed to say that?).
Rainer, another wonderful disc, you are very lucky to have that filter set

Re: Full Disc 15 January 2020
Hi Franco,
Sorry no. Both DayStar filters I bought in April 2018 has gone back to DayStar as both were blind. Everytime I read the word DayStar I get angry
That purchase was a total failure and even worse the way DayStar handled the complain. Weeks and weeks with no answers ...
DayStar is dead for me for all times ...
I have now only a very double stacked Coronado SM 60 with BF 30 ...

Rainer: you are a magician ! You certainly are doing a magnificent job of full disks with the SM 60 double stacked. I wish I could do the same with my SM90 DS. The 90 is traditionally not easy to put in band due to the length of the scope: you need orangutan arms to tune the external etalon while you look into the eyepiece. Once it is band, though, the results are excellent.

I am no magician. I have the advantage of being able to adjust very fine the etalons remotely while looking on my monitor. I made that 7 seven years ago.

Below the drawings of the parts you need to machine. OK, then you need a 10mm stepper motor with high reduction gears, a bellow couples, a screw which changes the angle, and a stepper motor driver and a little piece of software to move the stepper motor step by step ...

Hi Rainer...
You have certainly mastered the full disk mosaics with that scope. Superb image despite the cloud
