Fulldisc 14 February 2020

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Sun is shining on the Valentines  but the SKy was a little bit hazy nor crystal clear. Not much activity bur somehow I am getting the impression that more and more Faculae are developing :?: :?:

The little bright spot in the center seems to be a cycle 25 Positive / Negative polarity after checking the SDO magnetogram.

As always best seen in new tab or window.

These are a great set of WL and Ha images Rainer :bow

We had a sunny morning here too, but at -26c and busy at work kept me from trying to image ;)

Nice images Rainer, regardless of the low activity.

Great images, Rainer. Too bad the sun is so quiet at this time.

Lovely pictures again Rainer :bow :hamster:

However if there is a bright spot in the centre of the disc (equator) this cannot be the new cycle 25, it will be the old cycle 24. New cycle regions start around 50-70 degrees and gradually work towards the equator towards the end of the cycle. If it is opposite polarity then it is likely that it is so close to the equator it is difficult to see which hemisphere it is in and is likely to be in the opposite hemisphere to what you thought.

Hi Alexandra,

Thank you and yes. Maybe I got carried away

Next time I will copy the SDO image and overlay the grid to be certain.

Rainer
