Geomagnetic Activity 23rd-26th October 2020

Post by Carbon60 »

A large coronal hole in the solar north is spewing solar wind across the void of space towards and beyond Earth, creating geomagnetic activity as detected on my magnetometer here in the UK.

This is the fourth day of geomagnetic unrest and it seems to be continuing. Maybe a chance to view the aurorae if you're in a good location.

Thanks John, Alexandra and Rainer.

Rainer, the sensors and full magnetometers are available from https://www.fgsensors.com/

I wrote a tutorial on how to build a system for detecting and displaying geomagnetic data, which is available in the library section, if you are interested.

Hi Stu,

Thanks. Will it work in a garden 6 x 10 meters ?
