What is your optical train when you use the PST and Quark?
Specifically, do you use the BF on the mod? I just tried in 3 minutes time between THICK clouds:
152mm f6.5 to glasspath to PST Stage 2 Mod minues BF to Quark to 12nm to camera.
Hard to tell because of the soupy thick clouds, but I did achieve focus and could get an image.
I'll try again when the clouds are gone.
Thanks,
Doublestack PST Mod + Quark

Re: Doublestack PST Mod + Quark
Nope, Naked PST etalon goes after the Quark and before the camera. Your way will put the Quark at f10, and while it will work will be getting dark I imagine.

Re: Doublestack PST Mod + Quark
You're a smart cookie, Mark.
I did focus, but it was dark.
It was nice to get the PST Stage 2 Mod out again, but I was reminded how I really dislike tuning and dislike the sweet spot.
For tuning, I can never tell when I've hit the spot.
Thanks for the comments,
Jack

Re: Doublestack PST Mod + Quark
Mark,
I cannot find a thread outlining a PST Etalon + Quark doublestack...do you know of one or of any placement/distance parameters?
Thanks,
Jack

Re: Doublestack PST Mod + Quark
Hi
If you use a Combo Quark, with a 2x Tele-extender for F20 or 3x Tele-extender for F30 in front, can you then DS with the Quark after a PST Stage 2 Mod?
Using a 35nm Baader as ERF can you use no BF on the PST Mod2 and then rely on the BF on the Quark?
Does the Quark have a circular polariser in it and will it help with PST Etalon reflections?
Cheers. Andrew.

Re: Doublestack PST Mod + Quark
Hi
Valery said 'Double stack with Quark + PST etalon without it's lenses.'
Does that mean the PST etalon after the Quark and it works in the tele-centric beam?
Christian says in his site the PST does work at F30 despite the theory saying otherwise.
Cheers. Andrew.

A solid etalon has a polarised output.
