Deleting a post

Post by DavidP »

I’m not seeing how to delete a post that I recently made.
And thank you very much for your work on the site. I have appreciated it so much

There is a little cross in the row of icons in the top right of the post you want to delete. Not sure if you can see that?

Must be just moderators who can delete, I know the post you're on about so will delete for you.

Hi Mark,

That function is disabled in this forum. I also do not see the little x for deleting messages in me messages.

¿?

five minutes later

Now I see it. ¿ does it disable itself after a certain time ?

Lol, i'm not sure. I know I can delete posts as a moderator, don't even think I can enable it for others. I'm not a super moderator, only Stephen can make changes like that. :)

Now a few hours later the x for deleting disappeared ... So it looks like the deleting function is only available for some time and then it is deactivated.

Being an Administrator too of a dedicated Astronomy forum I found this settings in phpBB and so the question is answered ...

According to the time set in there it is deactivated and setting 0 zero means it is disabled e.g. it is allowed, = deleting, all the time.
