I stumbled upon this factory tour of the DayStar facilities by the owner of the company, Jen Winters. She's very knowledgeable and apparently the whole facility is based out of her ranch in Missouri, which in itself is kind of interesting. She and her late husband bought the company from the founder, Del Woods, in 2005 and modernised a lot of the existing products. Looks like they build almost everything inhouse.

Hi,
Very impressive factory but again, how comes they do not take better care about the quality they delivered to me of a Quantum 0.4 Å filter with a price over US $ 12,000.00 ¿?
Still wondering ... after nearly 3 years ...

Re: DayStar factory tour
It's nice to see an American company build everything in house. It's so rare now. Back in the 1990's the GE lighting plant I work at built everything in house from the ground up. Not now. We assemble our lighting products largely from parts made in China, Japan and Mexico. And most of the volume we once did has moved to a Mexico facility. We went from a 1,400 person plant in 1994 to a 300 person plant in 2021. It's sad.
They may need to up their standard of quality but I have to give it to them on making everything here.

I'm just waiting for ZWO to get into this game. They seem to be aiming for world domination.
