9th Sept. I managed one pic of the five sunspot groups on the sun today - a single exposure with a Canon 550d at 540 nm thru a WO 81 mm scope.
I have pasted an image from 6th Sept so that you can see the changes in the sunspot groups over 3 days. There was too much light cloud today to do a shot at Ha wavelength. Thanks for viewing, John W.

Re: 9th Sept Sunspot changes
John,
It's amazing how much and how fast sunspots and sunspot groups can change over time. I have seen an active region one day be nothing but faculae and the next day be a full blown sunspot group. Pores can rise and fall much more quickly. Sometimes within a single hour. Terry and I were having a similar discussion on another thread about the same subject.
That's the best thing about solar observing, no matter what wavelength(s) you are viewing it in. WL, Ha, CaK, Sodium, etc. It's always changing. It's never the same twice! This applies both to visual observing and imaging. The Sun is AWESOME!!!

Re: 9th Sept Sunspot changes
I can't really add more than what James has correctly just said - except amazing-again/interesting and we with our scopes are able to appreciate and be part of recording these sights and changes...
Thanks you John for the comparison, which now includes another "spotty" AR today in the far S.E. by the limb !!
