Thursday Sun 21st October 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

After a dreadful week of weather (particularly yesterday!!) finally the Sun came out today surrounded by beautiful blue sky with no clouds in sight...wow. That said, the seeing conditions were below average for my location with high frequency shimmering on closer views making sharp images somewhat of a challenge.

Anyhow, here are my FDs and some closeup views of the main features: AR12886, a beautiful surge prom from something coming around the SE limb and a very fine pair of proms including a nice looping prom.

Unfortunately my Ha FD mosaic has a slight light band down the centre. The pressure tuner needed a bit of a tweak.

Wow!! these are amazing Stuart :bow :hamster: I love the prom images. Yes, it has rained non-stop since we got home from holiday but today is absolutely wonderful, I bet it won't last till the weekend.
