Not having had a chance yet to review much of what's been happening here on SC, after a 4-hours afternoon with our telecom engineer trying to sort-out another problem that has been occurring over the least of very slow internet-speeds, we have managed to get nearly twice the speeds and more... At least thanks to RAINER - I can now see the screen with true-colour..
So eventually trawling through my usual list of websites to see what's been occurring on our beloved Sun, spacewEather.com shows a heading for today Friday 31-12-2021 as "GLOBAL ERUPTION ON THE SUN." I won't repeat that article here, but for you to look at that website for today's date tells more.
Not entirely surprised myself and no doubt some SC'rs will be adding/or have added items here on SC.
The three main images attached here show that we are about to enter a much-quieter state of activity than of late (with possibly even no AR's/spots
But in the meantime AR2922 has been added in the S.E., not looking too interesting - yet
Prominences seem to have flat-lined somewhat, albeit, judging by that spaceweather.com report, that can change (particularly at the Western-Limb..
So unless something dramatic occurs on Old Sol, this will probably be the last report/forecast of 2021 and hope to resume normal service in 2022,
with wishing all readers of SC - A MUCH BETTER AND HAPPIER NEW YEAR than of late...
Cheers
Terry
