Panorama of double Rainbow !!!

Post by Radon86 »

Hi All,
Hi Alexandra!
I am learning about HDR panoramas and I have made some basic single row panoramas using an iPod touch or my Canon dSLR. I took this one on a iPod touch 6Gen I think, merging 5 images. Recently, I did a test panorama using the nodal point on a camera Canon 7D and Samyang 14mm lens and did a perfect stitch !! in PanoramaMaker Pro 3.5 (trial version). Apparently HDR panoramas is the hardest thing to do in photography (normal photography) ! with a maximum EV range of 24. Our eyes have an EV of 8. Some cameras have EV of 8 to 12, may 14 ? (EV is exposure value, which is a naturally logarithmic scale of intensity).

Here is the rainbow (double) on June 13, 2020 near my home. I hope you like it.

That's a really fantastic double rainbow :bow :bow :bow you have the image so flat, well done! I have tried to image rainbows before and get distorted rubbish, it is so frustrating as they are always too wide for the camera lens. This is perfect!!

Hi Alexandra,

Thanks for the info about rainbows. I had no idea they were so complicated !
Processing rainbows to bring out the colours and lines ? I have no idea how to do that.

I am not sure about Alexanders dark band in my image, I will have to take a closer look.

Maybe another forum entirely for rainbows !? rainbowschatforum.com !
