Sunset on Siesta Key

Post by rigel123 »

Spent some time in Florida to escape the wonderful winter weather in Ohio :). Could not haul all of my equipment down there for HA and CaK so tried for a Green Flash (unsuccessfully) as the sun set on Feb 4th. As it was sinking into the Gulf of Mexico I did catch it with AR2939 showing up with my Canon 7D Mark II and Tamron 150-600 at 600mm.

This is so beautiful, while the rain lashes at my window I can stare at the sunset with a palm tree, bliss :hamster:

Hi Brian, nice capture !
:band
Did you use an ND filter ? Hard to image sun even near the horizon I have found, unless possibly live view is used and you are not getting too bright a sun.

Thanks Alexandra, it was nice to have the sun but frustrating because I didn’t have my equipment! But I’m not complaining!

No ND filter, just live view and 100ISO and 1/3200. Pretty thick atmosphere at the time!
