Thank you very much Filip, this is by far the most magical solar photo editing software. :bow :bow :bow

Hello Filip,

Thank you very much for supplying us with this free software and the upgrades !!

Any chance of any updated tutorials and advice? I am especially not sure of the number of iterations to use. Can you use say 10 iterations only, and repeat it 5 times instead of 50 iterations for deconvolutions ? Alexandra mentioned she does 500 iterations for some of her processing. Is there a mathematical solution as to the ideal sigma and iterations to use, as at the moment it is all a bit of guess work ?

There are very few videos, even on Youtube, so it is difficult to be sure how to get the best. I have seen yours and the results are very nice.

Many thanks.
Magnus

Hi Magnus,

Yeah, it's probably high time I made a new (video-)tutorial. As for L-R iterations, my basic advice stands — start with 50 to 70 iterations, though other values may work for you (as for Alexandra).

There might be some way to estimate the optimal parameters automatically, but my preferred approach is fine-tuning by eye for each session — that's the main reason for the GPU mode (so you can select a small image fragment and see L-R results changing in real time).

Stackistry — an open-source cross-platform image stacker
ImPPG — stack post-processing and animation alignment

Thanks Filip,

I don't seem to be able to get the GPU mode to work, but I will have another try on this.
