Winter Visitors

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

I finally got around to downloading pics form my DSLR and cellphone on the weekend, and found a few shots I had taken of wildlife in my travels.

The fist was a fox that I saw in the neighbors field back on Feb 28th, while I was on my way home for lunch. There was a family of foxes in the same area last summer, as I frequently saw the young ones playing in the field or on the road. The battery died in the cameras before I got any more, and the ones wit the cell phone are not very clear:

We had a big snowfall on March 11th, and saw this pair of Canada Geese several times through the day wandering around in the snow and thinking to themselves that this isn't spring...why did we come back so soon LOL. I got this pic in the wheat field across from our house late in the afternoon:

Terrific images Brian, I love seeing a Fox but it isn't often. I usually see one in Manchester but it has to be very early morning when I am walking in to work. It is such a treat to watch them trotting by. It is so rare though, you are very lucky!

Poor geese, they look fat enough though :)

Alexandra and Rainer...

Thanks for your comments :bow

The weekend rain took away most of the snow, so there is plenty of wheat for them to graze on now!
