A few months back I bought a new lathe and decided to make a new wedge with a larger Prism. I recycled some scrap aluminium from my junk pile in the shed. The prism was a $15 AUD 40 x 40 x40 cheapie from AliExpress. the total cost was around $25AUD . here are some pictures of the manufacturing process. I tested it all morning in the blazing Australian sun the housing was slightly warm but no hotter than any other metal surface in the hot sun.

Re: Solar Wedge Mk2
Hi Martin - very nice.-
What did you use for an ND filter? The Baader filter? Something else?
Eric.
