Ode to a professional. :bow

I can never quite clearly get the granulation like this. I think it's not only the seeing but the non tracking altazimuth mount I use for both visual and imaging. AviStack often has trouble precisely lining up the images and I can only do very short 300 frame clips. My often substandard seeing naturally doesn't help either.

Thanks James & Brian

James: The seeing controls everything. A good equatorial mount with good tracking also help.

You should use autostackert for aligning and stacking.

Final processing with IMPPG and photoshop

I haverá few tutorials that cá help

Excellent results, Pedro! Really nice!

have you ever considered two ways to go further?

1. To add a PST etalon to your Quark setup ?
2. To go with larger aperture. Your location has good seeing frequently enough.

Gorgeous. I really like the side-by-side presentation of the WL & HA photos of the same target. Shows the different things happening simultaneously at the photosphere & chromosphere? (If I'm using the terminology correctly - am going through the AMAZING "Solar Astronomy" book by Christian & others - what a resource!)

Thanks again guys

Valery: I have a few OTAs that I plan to use for solar imaging:

STF 180mm F/10
APM 180mm F/5 Achromatic

I also have a few PST stage 2 mods but the etalons are not that great (I have 3)

best regards

I need to check out AutoStackert and IMPPG. And your tutorials. Thanks Pedro. It seems IMPPG is used by a lot of people here.

I'll download Firecapture. Autostakkert and IMPPG. I can't run current PhotoShop editions on this older Windows 7 machine so I use GIMP and Paint.net instead.

Thanks Pedro.
