Sunrise over Chandos Park 24th April 2024

Post by Radon86 »

Hi All,
I got up early on morning of 24th April 2022 in my local park to try and see the planets rising. Unfortunately, i got there when it was too bright as it was getting near sunrise (I was afraid of going out too early in the dark...).

I got this from combining a dark exposure and one of the sun (I did not realise it was the sun until a few minutes later) as it was shining through a dark cloud and a lighter cloud complex). I merged 2 exposures using Luminosity Masks (I am a beginner). However, it is not that hard after some difficult first steps. I got this, I could never have got this without luminosity masking, maybe blend-if if I could master that.

Sunrise on 24th April 2022

Beautiful, I love a good sunrise to start my day :) I had forgotten that Mercury is good at the moment, I think.

Thanks Alexandra,

I think Mercury can be seen after sunset now. It will be reaching longest elongation if I remember soon.

This was the sight I should have seen (if it was dark enough) ! on April 24th. April 26th would have been better but I think it was clouded out (from Stellarium mobile).

April 24th just after sunrise.
