Reflection

Post by Gingerfish »

Right, I have now got rid of most of the reflections in my Lunt 50. But I am still left with this big one! Is this coming from the first ERF (red filter)? Will tilting it even more get rid of it? I assume tilting it too much would be bad as well?

Thanks!

Try tilting the ERF and see what happens.

Does it move when you rotate the blocking filter?

Well it is not the ERF! It's somewhere in the blocking filter. Weird

Try reseating the ITF element in the blocker.

Have you got another blocker you can try (or borrow to try?)

No, not full frame. Taken with my QHY183M (1" sensor). I usually use my ASI178mm, but it died the other night :(

No, I don't have another BF. But I will try reseating it.

Hi,

Center exactly the Sun and see if the Ghost is still there.

Did you have the same issues with your 178?

Stage 2 mod completed @ 100, 127.
Istar 228 arrived, building the frame slowly while learning cnc.

Yes, it is there with the 178 as well, and it is centered in the middle.

I did not make it home in time to try today. Hopefully I will be able to run a quick test tomorrow

Reseating it seems to have done the trick! No idea how it has worked itself loose in the first place, but oh well

Thank you! :bow

Tale out the ITF, wiggle it, put it back in at a slightly different angle than it was before ;)
