Easter Sunday Sunshine 17th April
Woke up this morning to bright skies, i'm not going to say clear, just rather white and hazy. We had a few hours to pass around breakfast, and with shadows visible on the ground I decided to go and see what was going on, especially as the active region rounding the limb has been flaring away for the last 24 hours.
The double stack on the travelling kit still needs work as i'm still not getting the repeatability of use I want without lots of fiddling and faffing, i'm being Mr self critical again... But, there is lots to see which is good, even if it takes a time to get there...

I seem to have got newtons rings on these closer views - more work to be done!
Hope you like my misty shots!

Nice results, Mark. Challenging under hazy skies, but a nice tour of the disk.

Nice captures Mark, the new sunspots and flare activity look promising.

Nice set of images, Mark.
I probably wouldn't even have noticed the slight newton rings (assuming that's indeed what it is) if you didn't mention it.

Terrific Mark, who needs a higher aperture when you can get detail like this out of a 50mm

Re: Easter Sunday Sunshine 17th April
Very nice, Mark! Having a small setup ready to image is key to make use of short windows clear skies or breaks in a hectic everyday life.
Best regards,

Re: Easter Sunday Sunshine 17th April
Thanks all! I do like the travelling kit. I think I have come across a very simple fix to square up the sage caused by the weight of the etalons, just need some sunshine to test the idea out...
I also managed a Cak disk on sunday too, but thick haze isn't the best for imaging in these wavelengths, still, you get an overview...
