AR13007 closeup with Apollo Max cam, 11.05.2022

Post by Dennis »

Hi,
today seeing was ok but compromized by jet stream speeds. But i could play around with the newly arrived apollo max cam and here is a first result of it. Still optimizing since its a quite different optical train.
Its recorded in 12 bit and around 330 stacked images (10% of 3300, 30 sek). For such a s/n result i usually stack around 960 frames (20% of 4800, 30 sek) with the asi 174mm.
The dynamic range manifests also in the editing process so i still have to figure out how to dampen the bright parts and i know its overall a bit too dark.

more coming soon.

Dennis

Nice images. The spicule layer at the limb shows up very well over the double limb of the photosphere. 👍🏻

the experimenting continues..
now instead of 10% best images only 5% (164 images).
I still see no noise coming up during processing, this is a great camera.
